About 10% of jobs today didn't exist 20 years ago.
About 10% of jobs today didn't exist 20 years ago.
Zoom out 80 years and that number jumps to 60%.
What will "work" look like when my kids are grown?
Nobody knows.
But they never have.
So guessing job titles feels like the wrong game.
Anticipating change usually is.
Especially when we can bet on what won't change.
Some skills don't expire.
In fact, they are becoming more valuable.
• Caring about others
• Being a problem solver
• Finishing what they start
• Knowing their own intrinsic worth
• Adding more value than they take
• Creating, not just consuming
• Knowing how to connect, listen, and build trust
• Standing against injustice, even when inconvenient
All of these can be taught.
These skills travel well.
They outlast job titles.
They compound.
We can't predict the future. But we can raise humans who will be ready for it.
