Does anyone else drag images off the web into their Downloads folder?
These days, more of them are showing up as ".webp" format.

A lot of apps still don’t know what to do with that.

So the workflow became:
download → open converter → export → rename → etc

Instead, like my ".heic" automation, I added a tiny Automator script on my Mac.

Now whenever a .webp lands in my Downloads folder:
The image is automatically converted to a .jpg

No AI.
No tokens.
No cost.

One small automation that’s been possible on macOS for decades.

Sometimes the best use of new tools is helping us get more value out of the ones we already have.
