I listened to a recent podcast with Bryan Johnson (the "don't die" guy).
For years, he has been testing EVERYTHING known to man (plus new things) to increase health span.

Welp, early findings are in.

He shared the simplest metric I've ever heard to track longevity:
Resting heart rate immediately prior to sleep.

Said differently, the lower your resting hear rate before climbing into bed, the slower you age.

The obvious next question:
How do you achieve the lowest heart rate before bed?

Magical supplement? nope
Miracle drug? nope

Spoilers: the basics.

What NEGATIVELY impacts our evening heart rate?
- Alcohol
- Tobacco
- Chronic stress
- Caffeine after 12pm
- Screens before bed
- Inconsistent sleep schedule
- Eating within hours of bedtime

Sexy? No.
Expensive? No. (It’ll actually save money)
Cool to talk about? Unfortunately, no.

We already know most of this, so why aren't we healthier?

The dose makes the poison.

Most are content to moderate multiple items from the list.
The serious folks remove all of it (and THAT makes the difference).

"The answer you're looking for is often the one you already know, disguised as work."
