I'm still bullish on code schools. But I suspect a new format will be required for the upcoming technology age:
1. the ideal selection criteria for applicants will change
A portfolio of coding projects is required BEFORE admission.
2. a return to in-person learning
We must teach habits and meta-skills of effective, online native work
3. employers will pay those participants
For the right archetype of human, tuition isn't the strongest revenue model.
4. real-world stuff will be the educational fodder, not random projects
Students won't graduate with portfolios built for interviews.
They'll leave having contributed to software that real people actually use.
AI is making coding easier but the path to becoming a great engineer will be as buried as ever.
