When I was 18, I had my thyroid removed.
When I was 18, I had my thyroid removed.
Since then, I take a pill every day.
On a day-to-day basis, it has no noticeable effect. Zero.
But over time, its absence would be deadly.
The decline would be almost imperceptible.
Meanwhile, core bodily systems start to stress and degrade.
Every morning, I confront this same reality:
Take the dose. Trust it matters.
It got me thinking: what are the professional equivalents?
What are the subtle, daily rituals of high value but low/no immediate signal?
A few on my list:
1. Documentation. Writing down notes and decisions feels like busywork in the moment.
2. Daily learning. 30 minutes of reading or experimenting (not mere scrolling) feels almost pointless.
3. 10 Ideas per Day. A recurring daily task (scheduled via Asana) where I take a few minutes to flex the idea-generating muscle.
What's on your list of Daily Doses?
