First, a few notes on personal task management.

First, a few notes on personal task management.
Then, why it matters as much as ever.
- Choose a task manager that connects well with other tools
- Put all tasks (personal and professional) in one place
- Write clear, objective tasks
- Put deadlines on every task (even if estimates)
- Use descriptions and subtasks to capture context
- Set up recurring tasks, even for things you could remember
- Keep it updated when new work appears
- Check things off when they’re done

Why does this matter?
Task lists are becoming the containers we pour ai into.
We’ve thought of task lists as reminder systems.
Increasingly, they’re context systems.

A well-maintained task list gives ai an immediate snapshot of what matters right now.
- What are we working on?
- What’s delayed?
- What repeats every week?
- What is upcoming?
- What’s active?

Whether our days contain 100 small tasks, 3 major priorities, or something in between, that context can be reviewed, organized, enriched, prioritized, and in some cases executed on (the goal).

The quality of our own, personal task management increases the quality of ai contribution.

Ai complements our working hours.
Better still, it can keep moving while we’re away.
But only if it knows where we left off.
