I was passed by a teenager,
I was passed by a teenager,
speeding on an e-bike,
weaving through traffic,
on the highway,
without a helmet,
using a smartphone.
Ooof!
All choices.
All proven to increase negative outcomes.
It is easy to judge.
But adults stack risks too, just in ways we have normalized to ourselves and others.
• Prolonged sitting
• Regular poor nutrition
• Physical inactivity
• Constant scrolling
• Chronic sleep deprivation
• Regular alcohol use
• High stress with no recovery
• Skipping preventive care
• Driving distracted
None of these feel dramatic.
None look reckless from the outside.
But the data is clear...
Impaired cognition. Weakened immunity. Increased cardiovascular risk. Accelerated decline across every major system.
Small, repeated choices compound just as predictably as speeding through traffic.
