Our minds don't understand compounding.
Our minds don't understand compounding.
Take a quick guess. Imagine you started with one cent ($0.01).
If your amount doubled every day for 30 days, how much would you end with?
Dozens?
Hundreds?
Thousands?
Tens of Thousands?
Hundreds of Thousands?
Millions?
Keep in mind, it's JUST 30 days.
The answer:
$5,368,709.12
The catch:
Almost all of the value appears in the final 6 days.
If you judge the progress at Day 5 ($0.16) ...
or even Day 15 ($163.84)...
It looks like failure.
This is why the early years feel pointless.
Why the first 100 posts get 12 views.
Why the first year of business barely breaks even.
Why the new habit feels like it's doing nothing.
You're not failing.
You're on Day 15.
The returns don't arrive linearly.
They arrive all at once, AFTER you keep showing up.
Day 15 looks like a waste of time.
Day 30 looks like luck.
They're the same line at different moments.
Most people just don't stay long enough to see it bend.
