Why remember anything? The internet has the information.

Why remember anything? The internet has the information.
Why learn to write well? AI writes better.

By that logic:
Why run? Cars are faster.
Why lift? Machines are stronger.
Why chew? Blenders liquefy almost anything.

We are losing the plot.

The process is the point.
One formula I keep coming back to:
Me × Technology = Output

Better technology can increase output.
Improving your own knowledge and judgment can increase output too.
But the biggest gains come from improving both.

A capable person with great tools will almost always outperform an incapable person with the same tools. So, technology is a multiplier, not a replacement.

Multipliers have two inconvenient properties:
Anything multiplied by a fraction is reduced.
Anything multiplied by zero is still zero.

If we allow our own abilities to wither, no amount of technology will fully compensate. The future belongs to those of us who keep investing in the skills that multiply everything else.

• Write. Writing sharpens thinking.
• Read. Judgment requires raw material.
• Exercise. A healthy body extends our productive years.
• Build relationships. Trust isn't automatable.
• Stay curious. Yesterday's expertise expires faster than ever.

Technology will keep getting better.
It’s our job is to make sure the person using it does too.
