Entire communities only exist because of the internet.
Entire communities only exist because of the internet.
Naturally, people are too far apart, too hard to find, or too unlikely to gather at the same place and time.
Take ultra running.
In 2022, I ran from Kennesaw Mountain, through Atlanta, and over to Stone Mountain. Standing in the dark at 4am with forty other runners, the absurdity sunk in.
Without the internet, there's almost no chance that group of people would have found one another. Yet there we were, brought together by a shared interest and the internet.
The internet isn't just a library of information.
It's a coordination machine. It helps people who would otherwise remain isolated find one another.
Some have already experienced that gift. Others have not.
For example, consider parents raising a child with a physical disability. For many parents, they are the first person they know who are walking this path. They get buried navigating hospitals, insurance companies, IEP meetings, therapists, school administrators, and public programs that were never designed with their family in mind.
• The information exists.
• The experience exists.
• The people who know how to help already exist.
• They're just disconnected... until now.
Our team at SupportNow is launching a system for family advocacy.
We're building a marketplace of advocates and the families who need their services. Parents and professionals who have already navigated these systems, learned the unwritten rules, fought insurance appeals, sat through school meetings, and want to pay it forward.
Some will volunteer.
Some will be paid.
But we will connect them... absolutely FREE.
Come be apart of the internet at it's best. If you know a family who could benefit from an advocate or someone who helps medically complex kiddos... come!
