Zone 2 Cardio transformed my running.

Zone 2 Cardio transformed my running.
I'm convinced there must be a similar version for work, too.

The idea of Zone 2 training is simple.
Most people push too hard on chill days...
and not hard enough on intense days.

Zone 2 is a lower intensity, steady heart rate zone. It's around 70% of your maximum, but much easier to sustain for long periods.

- lower injury
- faster recovery
- greater longevity

It's a conversational pace.
First, because your breathing isn't labored.
Second, because your mind has excess capacity.

It allows the body to wakeup the next day and do it again.
Then, on the occasional big/important days... it ensures you have the capacity and energy reserves to hammer harder.

The result:
- years without a major injury
- regular 30, 50, and 100 mile races
- the will to keep pushing

So, what is the work equivalent?

- focused, but not frantic
- movement, but not maxed out
- thoughtful, but not flooded

It's not about doing less.
Quite the opposite. It's builds the capacity to do more, for longer.
